NETmundial Gone but Not Forgotten?

Even though the official activity of the NMI has ceased, it’s important to remember that the regulation of internet privacy invasion is still alive and well. Snowden wasn’t the only person to reveal the secrets of the NSA and other organisations looking to snoop on your phone and internet usage. Just remember that it’s about achieving the right balance between privacy and security, and that balance must be actively sort by those who care about both sides.

The introduction of GDPR in the European Union is a great help to this effort, and I may well write a longer form piece on this in the future.
